The fifth step in the homebuying process is…
Closing time!
Once your offer is accepted, the house is considered “under contract.” The steps under contract include getting your mortgage finalized (fairly simple if you’re pre-approved) and getting the home inspected. The bank will also send in an appraiser before closing your mortgage to assess the value of the property. After that, it’s closing day! Woohoo! You show up to the table, sign some more paperwork, and then get the keys to your new home. It’s important to note that throughout the process of being “under contract,” there will be a large amount of paperwork to review and sign. This can seem overwhelming, and that is why it is crucial to parter with a great realtor. Your realtor will walk you through the entire process and make sure the experience is as stressless as possible.
